How this website is built to be usable, and how to tell us when it is not.
Our standard
We build this website to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, so that people can read about the shop, see our services and contact us however they browse. We check every change with automated testing tools and by using the keyboard on its own.
What we have done
- Every page has a link at the very top to skip straight to the main content.
- The whole site works with a keyboard. The mobile menu and the photo viewer keep focus inside while open, close with Escape and hand focus back to where you were.
- Text colors are checked for readable contrast, including over photos.
- Photos have text descriptions, and icon-only buttons have names.
- Moving background photos can be paused with the Pause motion button, and they stay still if your device is set to reduce motion.
Known limits
We do not claim the site is perfect. Booking happens on Booksy, and the map, reviews and Instagram links are run by other companies, so we cannot control how those pages work. Some decorative effects on photos may still be hard for some visitors, and we have not yet had the site reviewed by people who use assistive technology every day.
